Web or Agent Insurance
Purpose
Insurance fees reduce the liability of the customer or driver in the event of an accident. Insurance fees are sometimes referred to as collision damage waivers (CDW) or excess reduction fees and are normally charged on a daily basis to reduce the insurance excess payable.
The Insurance Fees tab is in the Extra Fees section of the System Setup menu. To setup Insurance Fees see the Insurance Fees help article. You can update and specify which insurance fees to display on your website from the Web or Agent Insurance tab.
Accessing the Web or Agent Insurance Tab
Navigate to the Web or Agent Insurance tab under Web Extra Fees in the Website Interface menu.

Viewing and Updating - Adding dates for Web or Agent Insurance Fees
To view any pre existing records, click on the location drop down box, select the location or all locations and then click select to view the results. To update, click on the insurance record in red text. To add dates, click on the corresponding record and in red text that says "Add Dates". When you choose to Add Dates to the Insurance option, the insurance will only be available for the customer to select if the booking/pickup dates falls within the date range entered.
This will open the Update Web or Agent Extra Insurance page. Once you have updated the record, click "SUBMIT" to save. See the Web or Agent Insurance Field Descriptions table below for more information.
Web or Agent Insurance Field Description
Field | Description |
| Web Item | Select whether this record will be available on your website. |
Agent API / Direct Item | Select whether this record will be available for agents / Select whether the item is a Agent Direct Item or not. |
Agency Rate Type | Select a agency rate type from the drop down list. These can be created under Agencies in the System Setup menu. (Agency Rate Type tab). |
Brand | Select a brand the record applies to if applicable. |
Description | Write a description for the insurance fee. |
Web Descriptions | Write web descriptions that describe the fee on your website. |
Display Order | Numerical only. When set, this will order the fields on your web steps for insurance. This will also apply to Online Checkin. |
