Card Vault Deprecation – Frequently Asked Questions

We’re phasing out the card vault, and we know you may have questions. Below are answers to some common concerns. We’ll continue updating this FAQ as needed.
Can you integrate with my preferred payment gateway?
We currently support VostroPayStripe, and Windcave. At this time, we do not have plans to integrate with additional payment gateways.
We already use a payment gateway. How does this change affect us?
If you received a notice about the vault deprecation, it means you may still be storing card details in the vault. Here’s what to do next:
  1. If you have a custom online booking portal, check with your developer about updating your site to process payments through a gateway instead of the vault.
  2. If you use our web booking module, contact support@rentalcarmanager.com for guidance.
  3. If you rely on our Credit Card Link (CC Link), Quote Conversion, or Online Check-In features, reach out to support@rentalcarmanager.com to confirm whether you need to switch to a payment gateway.
Can I still view full card details if I use a payment gateway?
No, payment gateways allow you to store cards for future transactions, but you won’t be able to see the full card number or other raw details.
Is there a cost involved with using a payment gateway?

RCM does not charge any fees for using a payment gateway. However, the payment gateway provider will apply merchant fees on transactions. Please check with your chosen gateway for their specific rates.

Can I use a payment gateway in Online Check-In, Quote Conversion, and Credit Card Email Links (Card Collection Links) to store a card without taking a payment?
Yes, a payment gateway can replace the vault for these use cases, allowing you to store a card for future transactions without processing an immediate payment.

Can I use a payment gateway to collect card details at the time of booking without taking a payment?

Yes, a payment gateway can replace the vault in your web booking module or custom-built website to collect card details without processing an immediate payment.

  1. If you're using an RCM-hosted web booking module, contact support@rentalcarmanager.com to replace the vault with a payment gateway.
  2. If you host your own booking process, check with your web developer to integrate your preferred payment gateway.
