Fuel Price

Purpose

The Fuel Price feature is an additional add on from the Fuel Type. The Fuel Type refers to the different types of fuel used by the vehicles in your fleet. For each fuel type added, you can specify the price per unit (litre, gallon or kilowatt hour).
The Fuel Price gives you the option to have a set price for the location where the vehicle is being picked up. Eg - Sydney Airport. 
You also need to select the Fuel Type the vehicle is using and specify the price per unit (litre, gallon or kilowatt hour).
Note that the Fuel Price will override any records if it is enabled within the Admin System ParametersTo enable the Fuel Price functionality, a user with head office access will need to enable the Fuel Location flag in System Parameters, for more info on System Parameters see the Knowledge Base article

Accessing the Fuel Price Tab

The Fuel Price tab is can be accessed from Vehicle Maintenance >> Vehicle Type >> Fuel Price 



Adding and Viewing a Fuel Type 

On the Fuel Price page, a list of your current records will be displayed. To view an existing record, click on the Fuel Type name in red text. To add a new Fuel Price record, click "Add Fuel Price".


On the new Fuel Price page, enter in all three required fields. Click Submit to save the new record. You will be taken back to the main Fuel Price page, where you will see the newly added record.

Enter the unit per litre or gallon (whichever is applicable) for the fuel type.

Example of a Fuel Price Record being used in a Reservation

Below is a Fuel Price record that charges $2.00 per litre on any vehicle that uses 91 unleaded fuel from Sydney Airport. To find out what vehicle is using what particular fuel type, see the Update Vehicle article. - Namely the "Fuel Type" field when adding or updating a vehicle.

After a vehicle is being returned in the system and the kilometers and fuel count has been calculated, you will see that the vehicle that is using 91 unleaded fuel from Sydney Airport has charged the $2.00 per litre fuel price against the reservation. See screenshots below.
