Q: How long does it take to capture an Authorisation?

A: Payments from captured authorisation may settle in your bank account on a different date than expected. The timeframe it takes for these payments for be processed and funds transferred through your payment gateway merchant account is controlled by the card issuer for each transaction. RCM has no oversight over this process.

It is expected that processing time may vary for each institution issuing the card, and most transaction would be processed within the range of immediately to a couple of business days. For a more precise timeframe, it is recommended that you contact the card issuer directly for their specific processing guidelines.

Completed authorisation transactions will be treated as payments in your RCM system on the day they were marked as completed, even though the funds may not come through for a couple days.
