Packages Form

Purpose

The Packages screen is where you add or maintain Packages that can be used within RCM. The Packages function is discussed in more detail in the following article Package Deals.

Adding and Viewing a Record

On the Packages screen, a list of previously added Package records will be displayed. To view an existing record, click on the Package Name in red text. To add a new Package, click "Add Packages".



On the New Packages screen, enter the following fields:
Package Type
Mandatory
There are 4 Package Types to choose from (these are discussed in more detail in the Important Notes section below):
  1. Package Total Cost + Extra Fees 0 Cost
  2. Package Daily Rate + Extra Fees 0 Cost
  3. Package Daily Rate + Extra Fees Cost Specified
  4. RCM Rate + Extra Fees Cost Specified
Package Name
Mandatory
The Name of the Package
Pickup Location
Mandatory
The pickup location of the package, you can choose All Locations or a specific location.
Drop Off Location
Mandatory
The drop off location of the package, you can choose All Locations or a specific location.
Category Type
Mandatory
The vehicle Category Type the package will apply to. you will need to select a specific category type.
Category
Mandatory
The vehicle Category the package will apply to. You can only select a category that belongs to the above selected Category Type.
If this is an RCM Rate + Extra Fees Cost Specified package, you can set this to All Categories, otherwise you must select a specific category.
Days
Mandatory
This will appear for a Total Cost package.
The number of days the booking has to be.
Days From
Mandatory
The minimum number of rental days for the package.
This field will appear for everyone but Total Cost packages.
Days To
Mandatory
The maximum number of rental days for the package. 
This field will appear for everyone but Total Cost packages.
Package Total Cost
Mandatory
The total cost of the package.
This field will only appear for Total Cost Packages.
Daily Rate
Mandatory
The daily rate that will be applied to the package.
This field will not appeaer for Total Cost or RCM Rate Packages.
Km/Miles
Optional
The Km/Miles Free option that will be part of this package.
Pickup From
Optional
The starting date of the date range for the pickup date.
Pickup End
Optional
The ending date of the date range for the pickup date.
Booking Date From
Optional
The starting date of the date range for the booking date.
Booking Date End
Optional
The ending date of the date range for the booking date.
Campaign Code
Optional
The campaign code that is associated with this package.
If there is a value assigned here, the package can only be applied through the Web or Agent API if this campaign code is passed in.
Web API
Mandatory
A flag to state if this package deal is available through the Web API.
Agent API
Mandatory
A flag to state if this package deal is available through the Agent API.
Description
Optional
A description of the package.
Image
Optional
An image for the package.

Click "Submit" to save the changes.



After clicking "Submit", you will be taken back to the main Packages screen, where you will see the newly added record.



Important Notes about Packages

There are 4 types of packages that can be created:
  1. Package Total Cost + Extra Fees 0 Cost - This is a package which has a total cost and any extra fees that are added to the package will have a $0 charge against them.
    The Package Total field will have a value and the Daily Rate field will have a $0 rate.
  2. Package Daily Rate + Extra Fees 0 Cost - This is a package which has a daily rental rate and any extra fees that are added to the package will have a  $0 charge against them.
    The Package Total field will have a $0 value and the Daily Rate field will have the daily rate.
  3. Package Daily Rate + Extra Fees Cost Specified - This is a package which has a daily rental rate and any extra fees that are added to the package will have the charge specified as part of the package setup.
    The Package Total field will have a $0 value and the Daily Rate field will have the daily rate.
  4. RCM Rate + Extra Fees Cost Specified - This is a package which will use the seasonal rental rate within RCM and any extra fees that are added to the package will have the charge specified as part of the package setup.
    The Package Total field will have a $0 value and the Daily Rate field will have a $0 rate.
Please note that for total cost packages a daily rate will be calculated by dividing the total cost by the number of days. If the total cost is not evenly divisible by the number of days you will end up with booking values slightly different to the package cost.
For example:
$1000 total cost / 7 days = $142.86 per day
$142.86 per day * 7 days = $1000.02
