Overview
RCM has functionality which allows for real-time payments rather than just saving a credit card against a booking to be manually processed at a later date.
At this point in time the payment gateways that RCM integrates with are:
- Windcave, and
- Stripe.
Real-time payments are also able to be taken via the Web Booking module. You can get your Web Developer to integrate any payment gateway you like into your Web Booking Steps. These real-time payments are then saved against the relevant booking within RCM. If you use either Windcave or Stripe you can reuse the payment token for any other payments you might need to take within RCM.
Online payments for online bookings
The RCM web booking module allows a rental car company to take payment at the time of a customer's booking request. The default booking process simply saves a credit card against the booking request.
You are able to customise how much of the payment you wish to take at the time of the booking, you can offer several amounts of payment, e.g. 10% of the booking or the full payment. The following rules apply:
- Payments are only taken for bookings.
- On Request bookings won’t require a payment but will save a credit card.
- A quote will require neither a payment nor a credit card.
- If a payment fails for whatever reason, the booking will be saved as a quote.
If you are using the fully responsive version of the web booking module, you will need to get your web developer to make the necessary changes to the standard set of code that is supplied. Your Web Developer is able to access all the information they need for this integration via the Developer's Sandbox.
If you are not using the fully responsive version of the web booking module, or if you are unsure what web booking module you are using and you want to take payments at the time a customer makes a booking request, you will need to contact RCM Support (support@rentalcarmanager.com). Online Payments within RCM
RCM can offer you the option of an integrated payment facility from within RCM. You will need to have an account with the Payment Gateway supplier, and then the Online Payment function can be implemented within your RCM system. You will need to contact RCM Support (support@rentalcarmanager.com) to get this function implemented within your system. The Online Payment function has a screen which shows the outstanding amounts due against each of the bookings. The operator is then able to process a payment using either a credit card that has been saved in the Vault or they can reuse a card that has already been used for a payment against this booking.

DPS Reports
There is a report within RCM which lists the DPS payments made on a certain date.
