Setting up your Web Booking Module

Setting up your Web Booking Module

Overview

There are typically two options available when installing the Rental Car Manager Web Booking Module.

The first approach is to simply ‘style’ the supplied pages to match your existing website and then link to these pages directly from your website. This is the quickest and most cost effective option when getting started and typically involves matching the colours, headers and footers to your main website. You can either have your own web developer complete this process or request a ‘standard styling install’ from Rental Car Managers programming team. If you request us to complete this process there is a $495 charge. Please note this does NOT include layout or functional changes to the standard web module booking process. If you require clarification on the best option for your particular requirements please contact our sales team before proceeding.

The second approach is for your own web developers to implement a fully customised version of the booking process either by hosting the supplied booking pages themselves or using the RCM API. This will typically be a more expensive and longer install process but does result in a solution specifically built to match your requirements. Please note we do NOT provide support to third party developers so please ensure your web developers are comfortable taking on the project and knowledgeable in the use of API’s and more complicated coding requirements.

Configuring the Online Booking Process Rules and Options

The Web Site Interface Menu inside RCM allows you to set the rules and options that control your online bookings process. You can set relocation rules, vehicle availability, discounts, insurances, extra-fee’s and many more options.

We highly recommend that you read the following Knowledge Base article which answers the most commonly asked questions when setting up your RCM system to integrate with your Web Booking Module Configuring the RCM Web Booking Module

Our RCM support team can also assist during this process, please don’t hesitate to email: support@rentalcarmanager.com.

While we are able to help with configuring RCM for the use of the templates we do not provide technical or programming support for the custom modifications of these templates by third party developers. It is expected that your website developer will have sufficient skills to deal with the site development. If modifications are made that affect the underlying functionality of the templates or cause the templates to work other than as designed then technical personnel from GMH Systems Pty Ltd can be made available to fix these if required. In this situation a quote for the work required will be raised.
