RCM now allows you to set up Subscriptions through Stripe.
This feature is available to all customers with Stripe Accounts connected to RCM, please contact support@rentalcarmanager.com to set up Stripe Subscriptions in your RCM system.
This feature allows you to schedule automated, recurring payments against a booking at set time periods. This feature is useful for long term bookings, because, for example, it allows you to charge the customer a set amount for each week that they are on hire, so that the end payment is much more manageable than it would be otherwise.
To set up a subscription, simply create a booking and ensure that it has a rebilling token saved in Stripe through which the payments will be taken. Then click the "New Subscription" button on the Booking Details page, and it will open the following screen where you can set the Start Date, any differing Upfront or Final Payment amounts and the information for the recurring payments themselves.
Once a subscription has been set up, everything will be processed through Stripe, including the finalisation and payment of invoices. All subscription payments will be displayed on the Booking Details page, in the same manner as all other Stripe payments.
At any point, a Subscription can be cancelled or detached from a booking if it is no longer needed. This can be accessed by clicking the "View Subscriptions" button on the Booking Details page.
For more information on how to setup and manage Subscriptions, please see the
Stripe Subscriptions article.
Additionally, you are able to view any bookings with active subscriptions on the new Active Payment Subscriptions report. This report will display the Reservation and Subscription Numbers as well as the Start and End Date information.
There are also new Automation triggers in RCM that allow you to send an email or web request whenever there is a:
- Subscription created
- Subscription cancelled
- Subscription payment successful
- Subscription payment failed.
- Subscription payment action required.
- Subscription payment error
