Forward Bookings Report

Purpose:

The Forward Bookings Report prints a breakdown of forward bookings and compares these against the previous year. It is selectable by pickup date range and includes an option for specifying booking dates.  For example, you may wish to see the value of bookings over the next two months that were booked in the first two weeks of the previous month given you had a discount offer running in those two weeks.  
The Forward bookings Report breaks down revenues by 
  1. Rental Revenue
  2. Extra Fees Revenue
  3. Insurance Revenue

Reports >> Hireage and Sales Reports >> Forward Bookings Report


Parameters/Filters:

Pickup Location
The report can be run for All Locations or a specific Pickup Location.
Any booking with this as their pickup location will be displayed in the report.
Region
Report can be run for All Regions or a specific region.
If both a Pickup Location and a Region are selected, then the Region will be applied.
Brand
Report can be all for All Brands or a specific Brand.
If Brands are active in your system, only bookings made through the selected brand will be displayed in the report.
Date Type
This report can either be run where the date range applies to either the Pickup Date or Dropoff Date.
Date Range
The date range that will be used. This will apply to either the pickup date or the date entered, depending on the date type chosen.
Apply Booking Date Range
You can choose whether you also want to apply a date range for the date a booking was made.
Booking Date Range
The date range that will be used for the Booking Date Range.
Excludes Hired + Returned
You can choose whether you want Hired and Returned booking to be displayed in this report.
This only applies to the bookings this year, as the report only considers Returned bookings from last year.

It is important to note that in the report output, the starting date of the Date Range will appear in the column headings, noted in the table below by "This Year" and "Last Year" will be the year before.

The Vehicle Category
As At (Last Year) Bookings #
The total number of reservations for this category that fall within the parameters for this report where the date range is the previous year.
As At (This Year) Bookings #
The total number of reservations for this category that fall within the parameters for this report.
% Changes
A comparison of the number of booking for the previous year and this year.
If there are no bookings for the previous year, this value will show as 0.
If there are more bookings for the previous year than this year, than this will be a negative number.
As At (Last Year) AVG Rental Duration
The average length of hire for the reservations in the category where the date range is the previous year.
As At (This Year) AVG Rental Duration
The average length of hire for the reservations in the category.
At At (Last Year) Days on Road
The total number of days for the reservations in this category where the date range is the previous year.
As At (This Year) Days on Road
The total number of days for the reservations in this category.
As At (Last Year) Rental
The total of the rental rates for the reservations in this category where the date range is the previous year.
As At (This Year) Rental
The total of the rental rates for the reservations in this category.
At At (Last Year) Rental AVG Rate
The average daily rental rate for the reservations in this category where the date range is the previous year.
The Rental AVG Rate is calculated by Rental Revenue/Days on Road.
At At (This Year) Rental AVG Rate
The average daily rental rate for the reservations in this category.
The Rental AVG Rate is calculated by Rental Revenue/Days on Road.
At At (Last Year) Rental Extra Fees
The total of the extra fees against the reservations in this category where the date range is the previous year.
At At (This Year) Rental Extra Fees
The total of the extra fees against the reservations in this category.
At At (Last Year) Insurance
The total of the insurance options against the reservations in this category where the date range is the previous year.
At At (This Year) Insurance
The total of the insurance options against the reservations in this category.
At At (Last Year) Total Revenue
The total cost of the reservations in this category where the date range is the previous year.
At At (This Year) Total Revenue
The total cost of the reservations in this category.
At At (Last Year) Total AVG Rate
The average daily total cost for the reservations in this category where the date range is the previous year.
The Total AVG Rate is calculated by Total Revenue/Days on Road.
At At (This Year) Total AVG Rate
The average daily total cost for the reservations in this category.
The Total AVG Rate is calculated by Total Revenue/Days on Road.

Points to Note:

  1. If the "Apply Booking Date Range" flag is not applied, the previous year sales will not apply booking dates, it will include all bookings for selected report date range, just one year earlier.
  2. For any of the Previous Year values, if the "Apply Booking Date Range" flag was applied, the booking date rage will be one year pervious.
    For example, if you choose a booking date range of 01/Sep/2020 - 20/Sep/2020, then the Previous Years will use a booking date range of 01/Sep/2019 - 20/Sep/2019.
  3. The Report does not include non-revenue bookings, Extra Fees do not include Recovered Expenses and Bond
  4. If you are Tax inclusive, All Revenues include Country Sales Tax, but does not include any State Sales Tax
  5. If you are Tax exclusive, All Revenues do not include Country Sales Tax or State Sales tax
