E-Signing of Rental Agreements - Overview

E-Signing of Rental Agreements - Overview

Purpose

Rental Car Manager has the functionality to allow customers to Electronically Sign (or E-Sign) a Rental Agreement. To have this functionality setup within your system please contact RCM Support (support@rentalcarmanager.com).
Once the Electronic Signature capability has been setup, there are two ways that a customer will be able to sign a rental agreement. The first is called Online Signing and the second is Over the Counter Signing.
The following knowledge base article provides more information about how to setup e-signing of rental agreements if you do decide to proceed with this function:

Online Signing

When emailing the rental agreement to a customer, the RCM operator can choose to invite them to electronically sign the agreement online.
The customer can follow a link in the email to a signature capture page, from where they will be able to enter their signature using a stylus or fingertip (on a touch-enabled device), or by writing/drawing their signature with a mouse.
Following is a knowledge base article for more information about this: Electronic Signing of Rental Agreements (Online).

Over the Counter Signing

Over the counter signing allows the customer to sign the agreement electronically when they come into the branch to pick up their vehicle.
Following is a Knowledge Base article which has more information about this: Electronic Signing of Rental Agreements (Over the Counter).

Further Options

There are further ways to use our E-Signature functionality, including:
  1. Set up extra signable sections on your Rental Agreement
  2. Collect E-Signatures from both Primary and Additional Drivers
