Category Fields

Category Fields

Purpose

Category Fields allow you to specify any additional features a vehicle may have. This could include things like a sunroof, towbar, roof racks, etc. 
Once the Category Fields are setup, they will appear for selection against the vehicle as below, when you click the "Category Fields" button on the Vehicle Update page.

 

Once setup, the Vehicle Specification report can be run to show all vehicles with a specific feature.   

Accessing the Category Fields Page

Go to: Vehicle Maintenance >> Vehicle Categories >> Category Fields




Creating Category Fields.

On the Category Fields page, you can see the information about existing records Category Types, Descriptions and Field Types.
To update an existing record, click on the red Field Description, or to create a new record, click on the "Add Category Field" button. 


This will open up the page shown below. 
One this page you will need to select the Category Type the Field will apply to. This Category Field will only be available for selection against vehicles of this Category Type.
You will also need to select one of the following three field types.
  1. Yes/No - This is the most common field type. You can select whether the vehicle has the feature (Yes) or not (No).
  2. Number - Generally used if you need to record a serial number.
  3. Text - Generally used if further information needs to be noted. 
Finally, you are able to add a description of the Category Feilds.
Click on 'Submit' to save the record. 


Applying the Category Field to a Vehicle 

The Category Field is applied to the vehicle in the Vehicle Update Screen.
To access this, go to Vehicle Maintenance >> Vehicle Update and click on the Category Fields button for the Vehicle.


The form will open, where you can apply the settings. 

Click on 'Submit' to save
