Area of Use

Area of Use

Purpose

Area of use refers to the area where customers can use a rental vehicle. Rental operators normally restrict the area where the vehicle can be used with customers who want to use the vehicle beyond the Area of use required to pay additional charges.

Under the Booking Validation Parameters in the System Parameters, you can make the area of use field mandatory to fill out when a booking is being created: "Area of Use Required" - "Yes".

You can define Area of use records applicable to all your locations or to specific locations from the Area of use page. Once an Area of use has been created you can then use it when making a reservation.

Accessing Area of Use

The area of use can be found under the System Setup Menu.
System Setup > Area of Use

Viewing and Adding Area of Use records

Any pre existing records will show on the Area of Use tab. To add a new record, click "Add Area of Used".

This will open the new Area of Use page where you can make a new record. Once you have filled in the mandatory fields (all), click "Submit" to save.
