Setup of Integration with Flow CX Using Automations

Overview

Flow CX is a third-party company which provides a customer experience platform for gathering customer feedback and generating online reviews. Flow CX

It is possible to use the Automations function within RCM to setup an integration between RCM and Flow CX so that the customer information is automatically sent through at a specified point in time during the booking process. For more information about the Automations function, see Automation - Automating tasks in RCM.

This article will walk you through both the steps required to firstly setup a test connection between RCM and Flow CX and then afterwards update this so that it is a live connection that automatically sends information through to Flow CX.

Please contact RCM Support (support@rentalcarmanager.com) if you have any questions or would like some help in setting up the automations discussed in this article.

Automation Setup for Testing

From the Automations screen inside RCM you should create a new Automation with the following settings. there are two images below for the top and bottom parts of this screen. Each of the fields for each image will be discussed before each image:
  1. Set the Trigger to be "Manual Test".
  2. The action should be "Web  Request".
  3. The URL should be "https://connect.flowcx.com/Invite"

  1. The Http Method should be set to POST.
  2. In the Headers field you will need to add in the information shown below. Flow CX (support@flowcx.com) will need to provide the information to put into the value field shown below.
  3. The Content Type should be set to JSON.

In the Template field, you can add in the fields you want to pass through. You are able to choose fields from inside RCM from the booking by clicking on the Data Fields drop-down, see below. You are also able to set a static value for a field to be passed through.

Automation Setup for Live Integration

Once you have finished setting up the test automation and are happy with the results when it runs, all you need to do to get it to fire off automatically is to update the Trigger field from "Manual Test" to the action inside RCM where you want this information to be pushed through to Flow CX.

You can see in the screenshot below that it will more than likely be one of the options under RCM that you are wanting to choose, for example "Booking returned". This would mean any time a booking was updated to a status of returned this automation would fire and send the relevant information about the booking through to Flow CX.
