The KMS options that appear on your website can differ from those that are available when you make bookings inside your RCM system depending on how they are set up. Each KMS record can be setup with a range of details including Pickup Location and Category. These details limit the bookings for which the KMS records are valid, and they also act to create an order of priority in which the records are available on bookings.
When a booking is created, KMS that are valid for the booking are chosen by first looking for records with a matching Pickup Location, then for records with a matching Vehicle Category. This means that All Location and All Category Records will only be available if there are no valid records with a specific Location or Category. So, for a booking made in the Airport Location for a Small Car, the KMS options will be prioritised in the following order:
- Airport Location and Small Car
- Airport Location and All Category
- All Locations and Small Car
- All Location and All Category
If there are KMS records matching the first option, these will appear. If there are not, then records matching the second option will appear, and so on.
However, when bookings are made through the website, KMS option will only be available if they are marked as Web Items. So, in the above example, if only the records against the third option are Web Items, this is what will be available on the website, while the first option is what will be available in RCM.
Please note: setting a record to "Default" does not mean it will always appear. It means that if it is among the valid options for the booking, this is the one that will be automatically chosen.
