A: Yes, when a customer receives a quote in their email inbox, there is an option that allows the customer to confirm whether they would like to proceed with a booking. When this option is clicked in the emailed confirmation, an online confirmation page is displayed and the customer can then enter their personal and credit card payment details. See below for an example of the steps in this process.
1. Under the Online Booking System Parameters, the option "Allow emailed Quotations to be confirmed and paid online" must be set to "Yes". To do this click on the System Setup Menu and then the System Parameters icon. Under the Online Booking Parameters heading, and alongside the parameter as mentioned above, set the option to "Yes".
2. Now when a Quote is emailed to the customer a link is enabled to allow the quote to be confirmed and paid online.
3. When the above link is clicked, the customer will then need to enter their last name and the "Submit" button.
A secure online confirmation screen will then be displayed (see screen shot below). Once the customer completes this screen, the Quotation becomes an unallocated booking request in RCM waiting to be accepted with an email confirmation or to be declined. The customer receives an email as confirmation of their request and the renting location or rental company also receives an email as an alert that a customer has requested a booking from a quote.
4. In the example above, Quote 1413 has now become an unallocated booking with the same number. To confirm or decline from inside RCM click on the Reservations Menu and then the 'Allocate Reservation' icon. You are now able to update the booking and send the customer an email confirmation or decline if no vehicle is available.
