Free Day Special

The Free Day Special function allows you  to assign a number of "free days"  for bookings made online via your website.
Free day specials are generally used  when you want to give customers a charge free day when they make a booking longer than a certain number of days (e.g. if a booking is over 10 days long you may award one free day). Free Day Specials are optional and not required.


Accessing the Free Day Special screen

The Free Day Special screen is found under the Web Site Interface Menu.

Viewing and Adding Free Day Special Records

To view all existing Free Day Special records for a particular location select the location, or select "All Locations" for a record that includes all your existing Web Locations. Then click "Select". 
To add a new Free Day Special, click "Add Free Day Special".


This will open the New Free Day Special page where you can set up the new record. Once completed click "Submit". 


Free Day Special Field Descriptions


Pickup Location
Select the particular pick up location the record will apply to. You can also select "All Locations" if you want the record to apply to all your locations.
Drop off Location
Select the particular drop off location the record will apply to. You can also select "All Locations" if you want the record to apply to all your locations. 
Category
Select a Vehicle Category the Free Day Special will apply to. All categories can be selected.
Pickup Date Start
Select the starting date for the free day special. 
Pickup Date End
Select the end date for the free day special. 
Minimum Hire Of Days
Specify the minimum number of booking days for the free day special to apply.
No. of Days Free
Select the number of free days given when the minimum hire days is reached.
Multiple Free Days
Specify whether you want multiple free days.  Please see the 'Points to Note' Section below for further information on this field. 
Extra Fee
Select the extra fee associated with the free day special. If you haven't already got a free day special extra fee created, you will need to create one in the Extra Fees selction so you can select it here . For for more information on this field, see the "Points to Note" below this table.
Campaign Code
If a Campaign code is selected, the free day special will only apply to customers who enter the code in the 'Promo' field on the website. 

Points to Note

  1. Make sure when creating the Extra Fee, the type must be "Fixed" with a "$0" rate.
  2. The "Multiple Free Days" option allows you to choose whether the free days are given once when the minimum hire days are reached, or each time the minimum number of hire days is reached.
    For example,  you may have it setup to give 1 free day  for bookings with a minimum hire of 10 days.  A customer makes a booking for 25 days. 
    If you set 'Multiple Free Days' to No,  this would give the customer just the 1 free day.   If the Multiple Free Days  is set to 'Yes', then the customer would get 2 free days as they get a free day for every 10 days in the booking. 
  3. A Campaign code can be assigned to the special so as it will only apply if a customer  enters the Campaign code in the 'Promo' field on the website.
