Customer Merge

Customer Merge

Purpose:

Over time you may end up with multiple entries for the same customer in the customer table.  
The Customer Merge function allows you to merge customer records together, the first customer's bookings and quotes will be transferred to the second customer. Once merged the first customer's record will be removed from your system.

Please Note: This function is only available to Location Managers and Head Office managers.


Accessing the Customer Merge Function 

Reservations >> Customer Maintenance



On the Customer Search Tab, enter the surname of the customer you wish to merge and click on 'Select'
The customers will appear in the list.



In this example, we have a duplicate entry in the system for the customer Tom Wallace. 

Completing the Merge:

Note the customer ID of the customer instance you wish to retain (in this case 1069)   
Click on the Merge button on the customer instance you wish to merge with the other customer instance ( in this case 1067)


Enter the "Merge to Customer ID" for the customer you wish to retain (1069)
Click on "Submit"

The selected customers bookings and quotes will be transferred to the 'Merge to Customer ID'.

Once merged, the first selected customer record will be removed from the system.
