Credit Card Token Migration

Credit Card Token Migration

Purpose

As Rental Car Manager (RCM) is moving away from the older Credit Card Vault storage solution (Auric Vault) to both an Integration with the Stripe Payment Gateway and a new secure Credit Card Vault, the ability exists within RCM to allow for the migration of the cards saved in the Auric Vault to Stripe and/or the new credit card vault. This is done through the Auric Token Migration functionality.

Once they have been migrated across to Stripe, you will be able to process payments using the Stripe Gateway. If you have migrated the card to the new vault, it will be available to be viewed in the new vault.

As the Auric Vault will no longer be available after the 31st of December 2022, we highly recommend that you migrate any cards to either the new Credit Card Vault or Stripe if you are using the Stripe Payment Gateway within RCM.

Unfortunately, this migration has to be a manual process as due to PCI Compliance rules, RCM is unable to programmatically migrate the cards across.

Accessing the Credit Card Token Migration Function

The Auric Token Migration screen can be found on the Reservations menu.
Reservations >> Auric Token Migration

You will then see the screen shown below.

Displaying Cards in Auric Vault

On the Credit Card token Migration screen, you are able to search for bookings that currently have a card/s stored in the vault.
You are able to search using the following parameters:
  1. All booking with a chosen pickup location
  2. All bookings with either a pickup or a drop off date after the date selected.
  3. All bookings or only bookings with a Hired status
or
  1. A specific Reservation Number.
You can also choose whether to display tokens that have been Migrated or marked as Do Not Migrate.

You are then able to choose to either migrate or not to migrate the card details.

Migrating Cards from Auric to New Credit Card Vault/Stripe

If you choose to migrate the card, you will be presented with the screen shown below. On the left you can access the card information in the vault. On the right you enter the card information into the new Credit Card Vault.
You are also able to choose to mark this card as "Do not migrate".

If you have the Stripe Payment Gateway setup in RCM, you will see the screen shown below as the bottom half of the Token Migration screen. You are able to enter the card details into Stripe to create the re-billing token.

After you have migrated the card, you will see the migration status has been updated to migrated.
