Q: Where can staff check for new booking availability without overriding unallocated bookings?
A: When a category is fully booked with unallocated bookings, this may not be obvious to your staff when creating new bookings. So, we suggest the below method to stop your staff from overbooking categories.
If you manage your unallocated bookings using the Availability Engine (AE), then we suggest that your staff use the Quick Quote function to create new bookings. After searching for a booking's pickup and drop-off locations, date range and category, you will be taken to a page that list the booking fees and the availability status returned by the AE. If a category if fully booked and there are no vehicles available for a new booking, the following message will be returned on this page:
If the category has available vehicles, then no message will appear, and you can immediately continue with this as a quote, unallocated or allocated booking using the buttons at the bottom of the page.
